Are you listening Kendal?

No doubt Keg will update his blog this week to describe the events of the last game of the season. But suffice to say that FCUM Radio provided a ’round the grounds’ experience keeping the ArmchairArmy, people at Gigg and other teams up to date with the ‘as it stands’ action.

Chelsea kept FCUM Radio up to date with the LIVE score from Kendal, his last call was to tell us the full time result from the Lakeland Radio Stadium, FC United were 1 minute into a period of 4 minutes injury time [that seemed to last for about 10 minutes]. The potential draw at Gigg Lane would see Kendal make the Play-offs, Chelsea stayed ‘online’ via his phone and nervously waited for the Ref to blow.

In the next few minutes the FCUM Radio team could hear fans at Kendal ‘whats happening’, and Chelsea shouting ‘shh.. I’m listening to FCUM Radio!’. The final whistle brought shouts and cheers down the line from Cumbria, and despite the obvious disappointment for us, it was a pleasure to be able to have provided the service to the fans of Kendal whom didn’t have to wait for news of their success.

FCUM Radio would like to build on the strong ties made this season and would like to implement the ’round the grounds’ as a regular service for the 09/10 season.

Thanks to all the clubs for their hospitality to FCUM Radio this season [with the odd exception] and we are disappointed to lose a friend from Prescot [Steve]. We hope you have enjoyed the coverage by FCUM Radio this season and we will keep you posted of some ‘special’ close season broadcasts. Our next LIVE game will see us trek to Sweden for the friendly game against an ‘all-star’ versus Djurgardens IF Fotboll, on the evening of Friday 22 May 2009… Keg cannot wait to start the broadcast “Welcome to FCUM Radio from the famous Stockholms Olympiastadion…”
