And what a week we have lined up for you this week on your very own radio station dear listener, oh yes! First up, we have Kendal Town or Kendal Never Been Beaten at Gigg Lane Town as they are known. Now over the last few weeks, Margy’s men have pushed on and it looks like we’re now travelling in the playoff slipstream, which is very nice indeed, but seriously, can we finally beat Kendal Town this week? If you cannot make the game, we’ll be live on Wednesday from 7.

Obviously though, to some people there are more pressing matters this week, as the inventers of non league football take on Altrincham…..wait……is that the right way round? No no, the club who invented the best online radio station dedicated to a football club ever; take on the inventors of the Altrincham Interchange? That’ll do. This week is a very special one for everyone here at FCUM Radio Towers, but in particular for those on the match day side. Five years ago this week, a group of gentlemen turned up at The Willows to commentate on Salford City against FC United of Manchester. It is truly amazing to think that from those initial efforts to provide coverage from that game in the North West Counties, five years on has led to the creation of a fully fledged online radio station. Who knows where we will be come our sixth birthday. Anyroad, join FC Live on Saturday for Worksop Town against FC United of Manchester; we’ll be live from 2pm and in party mood.

This week also marks the long awaited midlife crisis of Stevie D from The Show With No Name, as he has packed his bags, pierced his ear and made his way off to Australia for a few weeks with nothing but a rolled up blanket to hand, which in a roundabout way means there will be no show this week. In its place, we have decided to celebrate the youth of Manchester with two hours everyday this week dedicated to The Children Of The Revolution. If you have never heard the show before, why not give it a listen at 4pm Monday to Friday this week, every day will also mean a different show.

In other news, in last week’s letter we forgot to mention that we have a couple of brand new shows here on FCUM Radio. Join Hazza on a Tuesday nights at 7pm for Gonna Raise Hell, a new proper rock show here on FCUM Radio, which is awfully exciting. We are also proud to present at 5pm on a Saturdays from now on, a new post match show called The FCUM Radio Pink Edition. Hosted by Marv Willers, this show is your one stop shop for all things post FC Live, including post match interviews and reaction, as well as the rest of the scores from across the leagues. In other news, The FA Trophy tops the FC Live billing this week as FC United host Durham City in a replay of the second round qualifier. We would firstly like to offer our congratulations and heartfelt warmth to FC Live commentator and one half of Red Rebel Radio’s Swampy and Pace, Swampy, in the marvellous news that he is engaged to be married to the lovely Estelle. Negotiations are underway with FCUM Radio about live commentary being provided from the ceremony but if it clashes with The Show With No Name we may have a problem.

Whilst on the subject of The Show With No Name, on this week’s show Stevie D and Doh dabble with spiritualism, which I’m sure you’ll agree sounds interesting, that’s on at 4pm Monday to Friday by the way. Perhaps they’ll ask the other side how FC will get on in the Trophy on Saturday against Durham City. Of course if you’re living or indeed on another plain, there is actually only one way to find out, tune into FC Live on Saturday from 2pm for full coverage.

From this week on, there will be two editions of the Gig Guide each week, first one Monday to Wednesday will be specifically for those folk who like going out on a school night, and then on Thursday and Friday, he’ll be presenting a new weekend edition, finger on the pulse or what. If you’ve never heard The FCUM Radio Gig Guide, it airs Monday to Friday at 11.30am and is well worth a listen.

In other show news, I can happily reveal that the long awaited new series of Children Of The Revolution is now underway every Saturday at noon. And what a week we have ahead of you dear listener this week for you to enjoy and savor. Firstly, cup fever has hit FCUM Radio Towers, as FC United enter the Manchester Premier Cup. In other footballing news, the FC Live team are returning to Frickley on Saturday….. so that’s good news for our Dalek division.

Welcome to this week’s FCUM Radio Newsletter

This week dear listener we’re celebrating the creation of two very crucial partnerships for FCUM Radio for the coming season. In a very busy week, Constructive Coding renewed its support for the station by signing a new agreement to become the official sponsors of FC Live, our much celebrated match day programme, for the next 12 months. Our huge thanks to Aiden Montgomery and everyone at Constructive Coding for their continued support. This agreement is extremely good news, as this will ensure the station has a secure footing to not only continue to broadcast commentary to the hundreds of marvellous members of the Armchair Army from across the world, but will also allow FCUM Radio to start to reach out to supporters and communities more closer to home.

FCUM Radio has a long term plan to become a fully fledged community radio station, supporting FC United’s wider efforts in its community delivery. This week we moved a long way towards this by agreeing to produce a series of programmes with The Whitemoss Youth Club in Moston. As a station we are both proud and delighted to be working alongside such dedicated and hardworking pillars of their community. More news on the shows produced in the coming weeks but in the meantime, tune into this week’s This Club Is My Club, which features interviews from The Whitemoss Youth Club.

This week dear listener we’re off to a flier, yes the canteen staff are back in the building and we have a full complement of DJs, Presenters and Minders back on the FCUM Radio premises. It can only be the start of a new season!

And what a start it was, the FC Live team had a lovely day out in Stafford on Saturday, and despite a delay at the check in desk, in the end we were only to happy to bring to you the first victory of the season.
