Born in 1980 on the “Red Side” of Manchester, Chris Rogers has grown up with music in the family.

“My Dad was in a band that did the clubs in Manchester, and he was a DJ for over 20 years. There was always music being played. We’d go to the pub on a Saturday night, watch Match of the Day and then listened to old vinyl”

In the past, Chris has volunteered at Hospital Radio station Northern Air and has been lucky enough to DJ in Bangkok and Berlin and of course Manchester. In 2006 Chris and a mate arranged and promoted a House Music night called “Filthy Fango” The night was a success with friends and family in attendance. “We wanted to experiment with music and decided to add an acoustic guitar set in the middle of a house music night. It got a great reception and proves that there’s no rules or limits to what people listen to.

“Downtempo Sessions is all about music to chill out and relax to. Not only are there some all time classics – but I include some weird, strange and experimental stuff too. I suppose you just have to listen to the show!”
